Best Batting Cages in Orange County [2026 Guide]
Orange County has always punched above its weight in baseball and softball, and our OC batting cages are no different.
Between the travel ball culture, the year-round weather, and the sheer number of kids playing Little League across dozens of cities from Anaheim down to San Clemente, OC probably has the highest per-capita demand for batting cages of any county in California.
But finding the right facility? That's still harder than it should be.
Some places haven't updated their websites since 2018. Others are temporarily closed, or permanently closed but still showing up on Google Maps. A few are great but only serve softball. And the outdoor token-operated spots that your parents took you to as a kid? Some are still around, but others have been paved over for condos.
I've been running batting cage facilities in the OC/Long Beach area for 18 years. I know most of these owners personally, I've visited nearly every facility on this list, and I have strong opinions about what makes a cage worth driving to. So I put together the most honest, up-to-date guide I could.
Whether you're a travel ball parent looking for a place with HitTrax, a family that just wants to drop tokens and take some weekend swings, or a high school player trying to get college-ready reps, this guide covers every option worth knowing about.
Let's go facility by facility, north to south.
1. On Deck Batting Cages — Huntington Beach (Our Pick)
Facilities at On Deck Batting Cages
Address: 7442 Vincent Circle, Huntington Beach, CA 92648
Website: ondeckbattingcages.com
Type: Indoor · Baseball, softball, cricket, lessons, team rentals, charter school
Size: 19,000 sq ft, with 9 batting cages
Hours: Mon-Fri 2:30 AM-9 PM · Sat 9 AM-6 PM · Closed Sundays
Open to the Public
I'll be upfront: this is our facility. I co-own it with my wife Rose. We've been running On Deck since 2008, and in 2026 we're moving from our original Signal Hill location into a brand new 19,000-square-foot space in Huntington Beach. We are right across the street from the Huntington Beach Sports Complex.
I'm including us first because I think we’ve built something that doesn't exist anywhere else in Orange County. But I'm also covering 13 other facilities on this list, and I'll give you the real story on each one so you can decide for yourself.
What the new facility has:
Nine oversized batting cage lanes, each one 70 feet long and 15 feet wide. For context, most indoor cages in OC are 55-60 feet long and 12 feet wide.
The extra length and width make a real difference, especially for older kids who are hitting the ball harder and need space to see pitches develop.
The cage netting is retractable. Pull it back and you've got multiple areas close to 7,000 square feet of connected turfed space for infield drills, team practices, fielding work, or functional training. Black turf throughout. College-sized baseball pitching mounds and flat softball pitching mounds in every cage.
Pitching machines include 9 TRIPLEPLAY PLUS real-baseball machines for baseball hitters and 9 Jugs Jr. machines for fastpitch, slow-pitch softball, and for younger baseball hitters not quite ready to hit on the real baseball pitching machines.
The TRIPLEPLAY PLUS machines we have are also beloved by local cricket players, because they can perfectly replicate elite bowls and swings.
Our cage rentals are available in 30-minute and 1-hour increments. Private lessons are available with dozens of world-class professional baseball and softball instructors. They offer lessons in hitting, pitching, feilding, catching, and the mental game.
We have a professional Team Uniform Consultant and Custom Glove Consultant on site. We also offer team meeting rooms and host corporate and private events regularly. We are right across the street from the Huntington Beach Sports Complex.
But technology is another place where the new facility really separates. We've installed a full HitTrax batting simulator system and Rapsodo Hitting 2.0 and Pitching 2.0 units. HitTrax gives your hitter real-time exit velocity, launch angle, distance, and spray charts. Rapsodo gives your pitcher spin rate, spin axis, break, and movement profiles on every single pitch.
The weight room nobody expected at a batting cage:
The HB facility has a full strength and conditioning area run by EM Speed & Power. We're talking Rogue squat racks, Technogym machines, Olympic bumper plates, plyo boxes, sleds, and two Proteus Motion machines.
If you haven't heard of Proteus, it's a 3D resistance system that measures force, power, and velocity on every rep. There are maybe a handful in all of Southern California.
This isn't a corner of the warehouse with a pull-up bar and some dumbbells. It's a D1-caliber weight room, inside a batting cage facility.
EM Academics:
EM Academics is a WASC-accredited, NCAA-approved, UC/CSU-certified charter program (grades 5-12) that operates inside the facility. This is a revolutionary alternative to traditional school for serious athletes.
No other batting cage facility in Orange County has anything close to this.
Best for: Youth baseball and softball players (ages 8-18). Travel ball families. High school players preparing for college. Teams that need a professional indoor facility. Cricket players. Adults who want to take some swings in a professional-grade facility without fighting for a token machine.
What it doesn't have: It's not a token-operated walk-up facility with outdoor cages. If that's what you want, check out Home Run Park (covered below). On Deck is a training facility first.
2. Home Run Park — Anaheim
Address: 1245 N. Lemon St, Anaheim, CA 92801
Website: homerunpark.com
Type: Outdoor · Token-operated · Baseball and softball
Cages: 20 (14 baseball, 2 fastpitch, 4 slow-pitch)
Hours: Mon-Fri 10 AM-10 PM · Sat 9 AM-10 PM · Sun 9 AM-9 PM
Home Run Park is an OC institution. Open since 1961. That's not a typo. This place has been operating continuously for over 60 years, making it one of the longest-running batting cage facilities in the world. Generations of Little Leaguers from Buena Park, Fullerton, Garden Grove, and Anaheim have taken their first swings here.
Twenty cages, which is massive. Baseball speeds range from 40 MPH to 90 MPH, and they've got fastpitch softball (50-60 MPH) and slow-pitch with varying arcs. All token-operated, no reservations required for individuals.
Pricing:
$1.50 per token (8 pitches)
30 tokens for $30 (240 pitches)
60 tokens for $50 (480 pitches)
100 tokens for $80 (800 pitches)
Team rental: $75/hour per cage
They also run a full baseball and softball equipment store with bats, gloves, helmets, batting gloves, and even glove relacing services.
Best for: Casual family outings. Little Leaguers who just want to hit. Date nights (seriously, batting cages are an underrated date). Anyone who wants the old-school, walk-up, drop-tokens-and-swing experience. Home Run Park is the gold standard for that.
Limitations: Outdoor only, so you're at the mercy of the weather. No performance technology. No private lessons. No indoor training space. If it rains, you're going home. But for what it is, there's nothing else like it in OC.
3. The Clubhouse Baseball OC — Costa Mesa
Address: 1835 Newport Blvd, Suite A160, Costa Mesa, CA 92627
Website: theclubhousebaseballoc.com
Type: Indoor · Baseball focused · Lessons, cage rentals, gym
Cages: 7
The Clubhouse was founded by Brooks Pounders, a former MLB pitcher who played for the Angels, Royals, Indians, and Brewers. The guy has pitched in the big leagues. That pedigree matters when we're talking about instruction quality.
Seven cages, all equipped with Hack Attack pitching machines (these are top-tier, commercial-grade machines used by college and pro programs). The standout here is the technology: they've got HitTrax in the cages and two pitching mounds with TrackMan. TrackMan is the pitch-tracking system used by all 30 MLB teams. If your kid is a pitcher and you want truly professional-grade spin and movement data, The Clubhouse is one of the few places in OC that has it.
They also have a full workout gym with American Barbell equipment and a recovery room loaded with Hyperice products.
Cage rentals are available in 30-minute and 1-hour increments. Private lessons are available with Brooks himself or his coaching staff.
Best for: Serious baseball players, particularly pitchers who want TrackMan data. Families in the Costa Mesa/Newport Beach area. Players who want to learn from someone who's actually been on an MLB mound.
Limitations: Baseball only. No softball. The facility is smaller than it looks online. And you're paying for the MLB pedigree in lesson pricing. Worth it if instruction quality is your top priority.
4. D-BAT Orange County West — Stanton
Address: 11720 Seaboard Circle, Stanton, CA 90680
Website: dbatorangecountywest.com
Type: Indoor · Baseball and softball · Lessons, rentals, camps, parties
Cages: 11 (3 auto machine cages + 8 rental cages)
D-BAT is a national franchise with 200+ locations, and the OC West location in Stanton is their Orange County flagship. The name stands for "Developing Beliefs, Attitudes and Traditions," which sounds like a corporate acronym, but the franchise model actually works well for consistency and quality control.
Eleven cages total. Three are auto machine cages for walk-in use (first-come, first-serve). Eight are rental cages available in 30-minute blocks. They use real baseballs and softballs in the machines, which is a big deal if your kid is used to hitting dimple balls and wondering why real pitches feel so different.
They have HitTrax available for add-on sessions, a pro shop, and offer lessons, camps, clinics, and birthday parties. The membership program gives you free daily machine access plus discounts on everything else.
Pricing:
Machine cage: membership or per-swing purchase
Cage rental: 30-min increments
Memberships available with free daily machine access
Contact for current rates
Best for: Families in the Stanton/Garden Grove/Westminster corridor. Players who want a consistent, well-maintained franchise experience. Teams looking for regular practice space.
Limitations: The franchise model means the coaching staff rotates. You might not get the same instructor twice. And the auto machine cages can get crowded during peak hours since they're first-come, first-serve. Instagram following (5,700+) is healthy, which tells you it's active and well-regarded locally.
5. The Cage at Los Alamitos
Address: 10660 Humbolt Street, Los Alamitos, CA 90720
Website: thecageatlosalamitos.com
Type: Indoor · Baseball and softball · Lessons, clinics, travel ball
Cages: 5
The Cage is a locally owned operation with a fiercely loyal community. Their Instagram following (4,400+) is impressive for a facility this size, and much of that loyalty comes from the coaching staff. All instructors have 10 to 30 years of experience, and the facility has partnerships with current and former MLB players.
Five fully automated indoor cages for baseball, softball, and slow-pitch. Tokens available ($1 per token, 12 pitches) or you can rent cages in 15, 30, 60, or 90-minute blocks. They've got both HitTrax and Rapsodo available, plus a weight room with speed and agility training.
They also run travel ball teams and offer team clinics, which creates a tight-knit community vibe that bigger facilities can't replicate.
Pricing:
Tokens: $1/token (12 pitches)
Cage rentals: 15 min, 30 min, 60 min, or 90 min
Reservations encouraged but not required
Best for: Players in the Los Alamitos/Seal Beach/Cypress area. Families who value community feel and experienced coaching. Players who want access to HitTrax and Rapsodo without paying elite-facility prices.
Limitations: Small facility. Limited hours (closed Saturday and Sunday to the general public; appointment-only on weekends). That community tightness is a strength, but it also means it can feel cliquish if you're new. Call ahead before your first visit.
6. Baseball Performance Academy (BPA) — San Juan Capistrano
Address: Off the 5 Freeway, San Juan Capistrano, CA
Website: ocbaseball.com
Type: Indoor · Baseball focused · Lessons, teams, camps
Size: 13,000 sq ft
Cages: 10 cages + 6 pitching mounds
If you live in south Orange County, BPA is probably on your radar. It's a 13,000-square-foot indoor facility with 10 small batting cages, 6 pitching mounds, a full-service gym with weight training equipment, and speed and agility gear. Open to the public 7 days a week.
BPA also runs travel baseball club teams, weekly training clinics, camps, and leagues. They draw players from San Clemente, Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, and the rest of the south OC corridor.
The facility combines cage access with structured programming, so it works for both drop-in sessions and kids who want to be part of a year-round development program.
Best for: South OC families. Serious baseball players who want a full-service training environment. Families looking for travel ball programs with built-in facility access.
Limitations: Baseball only. The drive from north or central OC is significant (40+ minutes from Anaheim). Website is heavy on SEO text and light on pricing transparency. Call to get specifics.
7. Baseballogy — Orange/Irvine Area
Type: Indoor · Baseball and softball
Yelp rating: Top-rated on Yelp for OC batting cages (consistently #1 in search results)
Baseballogy consistently ranks at the top of Yelp's batting cage results for Orange County, and the reviews are strong. Reviewers praise the clean facilities, friendly staff, and reasonable pricing.
They offer both baseball and softball cages, with individual and team rental options. Online and walk-in bookings are both available.
Best for: Families in the central OC area (Orange, Tustin, Irvine) who want a well-reviewed, well-maintained indoor facility. Players looking for individual training and lessons.
Limitations: Smaller facility. Limited information available online beyond Yelp listings. Worth calling for current pricing and availability.
8. Hitting Zone Indoor Batting Cages — Anaheim
Type: Indoor · Baseball and softball
Yelp reviews: Strong ratings with loyal repeat customers
Hitting Zone is an indoor facility in the Anaheim area that gets consistently positive reviews for its equipment condition, cleanliness, and friendly ownership. Multiple reviewers mention that the owner, Ray, runs the place well and keeps things in top shape.
They accommodate both baseball and softball, and they're a popular option for team practices on rainy days and during the off-season. Individual and team rentals available.
Best for: North OC families. Teams looking for a reliable indoor option for rainy-day practice. Players who value a clean, well-maintained facility over bells and whistles.
Limitations: Smaller facility. Not a lot of advanced technology (no HitTrax or Rapsodo that we're aware of). More of a solid, workmanlike cage facility than a training academy.
9. Pure Fastpitch — Huntington Beach
Address: 5953 Engineer Drive, Huntington Beach, CA 92649
Website: purefastpitch.com
Type: Indoor · Softball only
Cages: 3 + pitching area
Pure Fastpitch is a softball-specific training center affiliated with the Firecrackers travel organization. If your daughter plays fastpitch in the HB area, you've probably heard of it.
Three indoor cages, a pitching area, and a team wear store. Private one-on-one lessons available for hitting, pitching, catching, and fielding in 30-minute increments. They also run team sessions and rent cages for individual or group use.
Pricing:
Cage rental: $25/30 min (up to 4 players)
Team cage rental: $70/cage (1-hour minimum)
Two-cage team rental: $140
Best for: Fastpitch softball players in the HB/coastal OC area. Firecrackers organization members. Girls who want softball-specific coaching from experienced instructors.
Limitations: Softball only. Small facility. The website and social media presence are dated (under 500 Instagram followers, Facebook at around 780 likes). No performance technology. No baseball option.
10. Softball Connection — Huntington Beach
Address: 18211 Enterprise Lane, Suite D, Huntington Beach, CA 92648
Website: softballconnection.net
Type: Indoor · Softball only
Size: 6,000 sq ft
Tony Rico's Softball Connection is a 6,000-square-foot facility dedicated entirely to fastpitch softball training. Rico has deep experience as both a player and coach, and his philosophy blends physical skill development with mental toughness and character building. He talks about responsibility, gratitude, and dedication alongside swing mechanics, which resonates with a lot of families.
This is an instruction-first operation. You're coming here for coaching, not for self-serve cage time.
Pricing: Contact directly at (714) 841-2733
Best for: Serious fastpitch softball players who want focused, values-driven instruction. Families who care about coaching philosophy as much as physical development.
Limitations: Softball only. The website is minimal and doesn't list pricing or schedules. No technology platforms, no weight room, no baseball option. This is a niche operation, and it's good at what it does, but it's not trying to be everything to everyone.
11. Outwork Training — Huntington Beach
Address: 17782 Metzler Lane, Suite A, Huntington Beach, CA 92647
Website: outwork-training.com
Type: Indoor · Baseball and softball
Size: Small facility
Outwork Training is a newer operation located just down the street from the HB Sports Complex. They offer indoor batting cages and pitching machines for both baseball and softball, with a focus on youth athlete development.
The key thing to know: this is appointment-only. You must pre-book at least one hour in advance. No walk-ins.
That's either a feature or a bug depending on your preference. The upside is a less crowded, more focused environment. The downside is zero flexibility for spontaneous cage sessions.
Pricing: Contact at (714) 907-3218. They offer 10% off first purchases through newsletter signup.
Best for: Families in the Goldenwest corridor of HB who want a quiet, less-crowded environment. Players who plan ahead and prefer one-on-one attention.
Limitations: Small. Appointment only. Limited online information about specific services and pricing. Not a walk-up-and-hit kind of place.
12. Huntington Beach Sports Complex — City Cages
Address: 18100 Goldenwest Street, Huntington Beach, CA 92648
Type: Outdoor · Coin/token-operated
Status: Batting cages currently closed (as of 2026)
The HB Sports Complex is a gorgeous 45-acre city facility with softball fields, soccer fields, turf areas, and batting cages outfitted with Iron Mike arm-style pitching machines.
When they're open, the pricing is the cheapest you'll find anywhere: $1 per token, $5 for 6 tokens, 12 pitches per token. Walk up and hit.
But here's the problem: the cages are frequently closed without notice. Weather, maintenance, staffing, special events at the complex. Multiple Yelp reviews mention showing up to locked gates. And as of early 2026, the cages are listed as not currently open. There's also a $2 daily parking fee for the complex.
Best for: Casual family outings if you call ahead and confirm they're open. The cheapest option in OC when operational.
Limitations: Currently closed. Unreliable hours even when technically open. No instruction, no technology, no indoor option. Call (714) 248-6332 before driving there.
13. Laguna Beach Batting Cages — Laguna Canyon
Type: Outdoor · Token-operated
Machines: Iron Mike machines, 40-70 MPH
Cages: 3 hitting tunnels + pitching mounds
A small, outdoor token-operated facility nestled into Laguna Canyon. The setting is genuinely beautiful, with canyon hills as your backdrop while you hit. Multiple reviewers mention it feels like a hidden gem, and a few note that they drove past it twice trying to find it (park where the school buses are).
They accept Venmo, which earned them multiple enthusiastic reviews. That's how low the bar is at some outdoor cage facilities in OC. Pricing is about $3 for 20 pitches.
Best for: South/coastal OC families looking for casual outdoor cage time. Anyone who wants a scenic spot to hit. Laguna Beach locals who don't want to drive 30 minutes to Anaheim.
Limitations: Tiny. Outdoor only. Three tunnels. No technology, no lessons, no team facilities. But for a quick, casual session in a cool setting, it's hard to beat.
14. Mr. Cages
Type: Indoor · Baseball and softball
Yelp rating: Strong reviews, frequently appears in OC batting cage searches
Mr. Cages shows up consistently in OC Yelp searches and gets solid reviews. The facility serves both baseball and softball with a mix of cage rentals and private instruction.
Best for: Depending on your location in OC, worth checking out as a local option. Call for current pricing and availability.

How to Pick the Right Batting Cage Facility in OC
The right choice depends on what you're actually trying to accomplish. Here's how I'd think about it:
If your kid plays travel ball and you want data-driven development: On Deck (HitTrax + Rapsodo + weight room), The Clubhouse (HitTrax + TrackMan), The Cage at Los Alamitos (HitTrax + Rapsodo), or D-BAT (HitTrax add-on). These four are the only facilities in OC with professional-grade performance technology.
If your daughter plays fastpitch softball: Pure Fastpitch and Softball Connection in Huntington Beach are the specialists. On Deck also serves softball with full-sized cages and Jugs Jr. machines.
If you just want to walk up and hit tokens on a Saturday: Home Run Park in Anaheim. Twenty outdoor cages, no reservation, no appointment, no membership. Drop tokens and swing. This is the classic OC batting cage experience.
If you're in south OC and don't want to drive to Anaheim: BPA in San Juan Capistrano (training-focused) or Laguna Beach Batting Cages (casual outdoor).
If your kid is a serious pitcher: The Clubhouse has TrackMan, which is the professional standard for pitch tracking. On Deck has Rapsodo Pitching 2.0, which gives similar data at a slightly more accessible price point. The Cage at Los Alamitos also has Rapsodo.
If you want training, school, and strength conditioning under one roof: That's On Deck with EM Academics and EM Speed & Power. Nobody else has all three in one building.
A Few Things I Wish More Parents Knew About Batting Cages
After 18 years of watching families walk through our doors, here are some things that come up over and over:
Dimple balls aren't real practice. Yellow rubber dimple balls come off the bat completely differently than a real baseball or softball. The weight, the spin, the sound, the feel. If your kid trains exclusively on dimple balls and then steps into a game, there's a jarring adjustment period. Look for facilities that throw real baseballs and softballs, at least some of the time.
Speed isn't everything. Parents fixate on "my kid hits 70 mph." That's fine, but pitch recognition, timing, and contact quality matter more than raw speed. A good facility will have machines that throw different pitch types (curves, sliders, changeups) at moderate speeds, not just straight fastballs at maximum velocity.
Technology is only useful if someone interprets it. Having HitTrax in a cage is great. But a 12-year-old staring at an exit velocity number without context is just staring at a number. The value comes from an instructor who can look at the data and say, "Your launch angle is too steep because you're dropping your back shoulder. Here's a drill to fix it." Technology without instruction is a screen saver.
Indoor beats outdoor for serious training. Southern California weather is great, but outdoor cages are at the mercy of wind, sun glare, and the occasional rainy week that cancels three practices in a row. If you're on a training schedule, you need a facility that's available regardless of weather.
The Bottom Line
Orange County has batting cage options for every budget and every level. The outdoor token facilities like Home Run Park and Laguna Beach Batting Cages are perfect for casual family fun. The training-focused facilities like The Clubhouse, BPA, The Cage at Los Alamitos, and D-BAT serve serious players who want instruction and development.
We built On Deck HB to fill a gap that we saw after 18 years in this industry. No other facility in OC combines oversized cage dimensions, retractable netting for open training space, HitTrax and Rapsodo, a D1-caliber weight room with Proteus machines, real-ball pitching machines, cricket cages, and a WASC-accredited school under one roof. We didn't build it to be the cheapest option. We built it to be the most complete option.
The new Huntington Beach facility opens Summer 2026. Come see it for yourself.

Mike Rogers has co-owned and operated On Deck Batting Cages in the Long Beach and Orange County area for 18+ years. He and his wife Rose are relocating the facility to a new 19,000-square-foot location at 7442 Vincent Circle in Huntington Beach, CA.
